PatriotALERT Test

A message from UT TYLER EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS (PATRIOTALERT)

This is a test of the PatriotALERT emergency notification service for The University of Texas at Tyler. This is NOT an emergency.

In the event of an emergency, all students, faculty and staff will be notified by a combination of email, text, and voice messages using PatriotALERT. The system will be used to distribute important information regarding emergencies that dictate immediate action, like tornado warnings or an active shooter on campus.

If you have not done so, we strongly encourage students to go to the myUT Tyler Student Portal and update your telephone contact information. If your information is not updated, we will not be able to contact you in an emergency. Your CELL PHONE number is the most important number to provide so that you can receive voice and text messages during a emergency. Because students, faculty and staff are constantly on the move, this system provides the flexibility for you to receive emergency messages on multiple devices.

More information and instructions can be found at: http://www.uttyler.edu/emergency/

Employees can also go to the web site for instructions on how to update their contact information.

Remember, if you are in class or in your dorm room, PatriotALERT may be the only way you receive notification of an emergency on campus. This is why it is important that you keep your contact information updated.

Thank you for your cooperation as we work to ensure your safety on the UT Tyler campus.
