Test of PatriotALERT - Oct. 1 at 10:50 a.m.

A message from UT TYLER EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS (PATRIOTALERT)

Dear Students, Faculty & Staff –

On Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 10:50 a.m., the UT Tyler Police Dept. and Office of Emergency Management will test the PatriotALERT Emergency Notification System. At that time, a message will be send via e-mail, voice and text to all registered users.

PatriotALERT is the official emergency notification service for UT Tyler. It is a mass notification system comprised of e-mail, voice and text messaging that is designed to send emergency messages to all UT Tyler students, faculty, and staff in minutes.

To ensure your emergency contact information is updated so that you can receive emergency notifications, please follow the instructions on this site: http://www.uttyler.edu/emergency/patriotalert/

PatriotALERT will only be used to distribute information regarding emergencies that dictate immediate action. Examples of alerts include severe weather like a tornado, building evacuations, dangers like an active shooter that require lock-down or shelter-in-place, or other emergencies requiring immediate action. The messages will direct you where to go for further information or what action to take. Besides emergencies, the only time the PatriotALERT notification system will be used is for system tests to ensure that we are able reach all PatriotALERT participants in the event of an emergency. You will NOT receive routine announcements or spam.

If you have any questions or concerns, please e-mail us at patriotalert@uttyler.edu.

Thank you –

UT Tyler Police & Office of Emergency Management
